The Town of Pelham is holding hybrid meetings of Council and Committee in accordance with Procedure By-law 4507(2022). Land Recognition Statement

 

We begin this meeting by acknowledging the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum agreement. Today this gathering place is home to many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples and acknowledging reminds us that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous people.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the next portion of the meeting be closed to the public in order to consider a matter under Section 239(2) and Section 239(3.1) of the Municipal Act, as follows:

(f) advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose; 
(3.1) A meeting of a council or local board or of a committee of either of them may be closed to the public if the following conditions are both satisfied: 1. The meeting is held for the purpose of educating or training the members; 2.
